PLANET GIVES BACK RETURNS TO THE GREEN INDUSTRY CONFERENCE
HERNDON, Va., October 3, 2013 — PLANET will hold the third annual PLANET Gives Back project, a volunteer service event, Wednesday, Oct. 23, during this year’s Green Industry Conference (GIC) in Louisville, Ky.
A group of approximately 75 PLANET member volunteers will work to enhance the Home of the Innocents, a nonprofit shelter and pediatric convalescent center that provides services to those facing severe crisis, including children who have been abused, neglected, or abandoned, medically fragile children, and those with autism. PLANET Gives Back volunteers will plant approximately 25 trees, spruce up the facility’s playground as well as its butterfly gardens, and plant cold crops in raised vegetable beds.
“We are pleased to continue our efforts in the downtown Louisville area for the third year in a row and especially thrilled to be working with the Home of the Innocents,” said Alex Fransen, PLANET Gives Back project manager. “This is a great opportunity for the PLANET members to give back to the city of Louisville, showcase their skills, improve the environment, and help solidify partnerships within the community.”
The number of volunteers for this project is limited to 75 and there are some openings still available. For more information about PLANET Gives Back or to register, visit PLANET’s website or call the PLANET office at 800-395-2522.
