My favorite summer activity is hanging out with my family, friends and dogs at the pool!
But, there are so many other outdoor summer adventures in St. Louis that I also look forward to.
On Sundays, I enjoy kayaking at Creve Couer Lake. They have many rental options including kayaks, tandem kayaks, canoes, and paddleboards. The cost is about $10/hour.
Hiking in the morning is worth waking up for (sometimes!). Some popular trails include Lewis & Clark, Castlewood (my favorite is the Riverscene Trail – do the stairs TWICE!) and Rockwoods Reservation. If you only have time for a quick walk after dinner, the Levee trail is nearby and only a few miles long.
Summer isn’t complete without a couple of winery tours – Chandler Hill is just a short drive away and beautiful. Sugar Creek is another option that is inexpensive. The local brewery tours are always a great day in my book – Schlafly Bottleworks has a great tap room, and for the microbrew fans Square One Brewery & Distillery just recently opened in 2006 and is on my to do list!
The dog lover in me can’t pass up the dog park. Chesterfield residents can enjoy Eberwein Dog Park. This is also a great way to do some impromptu networking!
Enjoy your summer!
